I'm a first time user of Wikispaces and I am creating this information for the purposes of the ICTPD Milestone 2 Teacher Survey. There is quite a bit of downloading but I hope to make this process user-friendly.
Things that have been accomplished since the last milestone report. What progress has been made towards achieving these goals?

Created Room 9 Website (Spike) I enjoyed the developing of the introduction page and sharing a bit of my life with the students, as well as discovering how the rest of the Koromatua Website site works.

Rm 8 Production 2010 - Room 8 invited a group of room 9 students to video their production dance preparations. This dance video was one our first videos to be uploaded to the internet. My goal: I wanted to create a video that was not a utube video and had a control bar at the bottom. So I found a converter to swf (small web file), that enabled this dance video to be uploaded to the web with a control bar format. I achieved this, however, there are still some glitches to work on, such as, the video bar at the bottom stays where it is and does not resize with the window and the video can be a slow upload. I also liked the Firefox F11 full screen browser feature. Our students enjoyed this great opportunity to develop their camera knowledge and skills.
Tuakana Speeches - the speech finalist held earlier this year, were each captured on video by our group of room 9 camera students, and these were individually placed onto each class website (Spike). My goal: was to secure and make private the student speech files and to present these files back to each student to access and view. I achieved this via a rar download and created a simple password for each student. I wanted to consider the identify protection of the students and give them the control of who views their digital material, I was happy with the outcome. To download these files there will be around 10-15MB DL to access the videos. To open the rar files, type the student's first name, followed by their room number, example, Troy1. I compiled these speech videos using a video editing program, PowerDirect, that allows me to mix photos and videos to create a nice finish and video presentation. Find these files on Koromatua Website, in the following list.
Granparents Day (ref **Minutes of Staff Meeting** Date: 17 May 2010) Room 9 wanted to sing the song 'Grandpa', so a karaoke version was made (Grandpa song and words) using a video editing program. This song was learned well by the students, (via internet access) and it was a hit with the grandparents. Tuakana syndicate also gave a Grandparents Medley (6.3MB)in the hall that day, which was also available in the same manner, and was a hit will all the grandparents. These files were also transferred throughout Tuakana classes and made available on their website.
Curriculum Areas Room 9 - This an area where I wanted students sharing their interest website with each other. Small beginning but lots of potential!

Room 9 speeches - here are examples of technology used over time. My goal: that each student speech attempt was recorded over time for them to view, reflect upon, and own. These are placed in their Caves The program I used to make up the video footage was a pdf converter. This allowed for multiple videos to be viewed in a pdf file. A fantastic resource with huge potential but a time consuming program to learn, use and enter onto our Koromatua website. Here are some examples:
**Welcome to Room 9 Blog** - Nau Mai Haere Mai. This blog consist of ICT ideas in that asist my professional development, 'Curriculum Home pages' that support student learning and student blogs. We are exploring how to blog and we have grown in so many ways in blog knowledge and skills. I have encouraged the students to give this a go thus being very pleased with the outcome. Ref. example Svante's Blog whose writing has excelled.
